Polly Donnellan writes about Art, DIY, weather and life in general from her home in rural Ireland.  She is interested in gardening, music, DIY and people and loves to get feedback on her blog.

Bio

Contemporary, abstract artist Polly Donnellan works from her studio at home.  At present she is working with print, paint and embroidery and has had a number of successful exhibitions over the past few years. She also works one day a week facilitating special needs adults to do screen printing and crafts in a local community care centre.  She lives with her partner and has a 21 year old son who lives away from home.

    Nice to meet you Polly :) I find that we have much in common as artists even though we use a different medium. I especially connected with your post about the artist's statement.

    Could you add some pictures of your work to your blog? I for one, would love to see them.

    Hi Polly,
    It's so refreshing to find Irish women in this directory. I was born in Carrickfergus, brought to Canada when I was young. I think being Irish is truly in your blood. There is a longing for the sights and sounds of Irish country living. My father came from a farming family and the homestead is still there in Nutts Corners. I would love to go back and visit family in the South and North, one day I will.

    I was in Ireland for the first time last year. From Cork to the Burrens and back along the coast. I think your blog is wonderful--so clear and honest. And your work is amazing. I want to come back to Ireland so I can see it in person!

    Thank you to all who have commented on my blog, I'm a bit behind with everything, I didn't even know people were making comments. Any one who wants to visit my studio here is more than welcome, I would be delighted to see all of you. My work is starting to gather momentum again after a barren period of time. I am painting and investigating. My main blog is trying to be dedicated to my art practice, but the other blog polly-donnellan.blogspot.com is more light hearted and about my life.
