Lovin' life with Lea

Blog

Lovin Life with Lea is a blog by a forty-something woman who had gastric bypass weight loss surgery (WLS) to take back her life.  Now, after losing half of her self (literally--410 pounds to a daily weight that ranges from 202 to 205 pounds!), Lea is living life instead of just existing and she is loving it!  She shares recipes, product reviews, support, and just general discussion on life, weight loss surgery, and more!

Bio

Name is Lea Burnside.  From--Wild, Wonderful West Virginia, but only for the last 10 years.  Prior to that, I lived in Florida for many years and grew up there.  I have two daughters (17 and 20) and one awesome grandbaby (almost 9 mos).  We live out in the country--20 minutes from the closest grocery store, gas station, etc.  We have some farm animals and enjoy the quiet life.  I am a teacher (secondary, social studies) but am not working full time right now, just substituting.  I hope to go back to work full time soon--well, as soon as a position comes available in my area...  As noted in my blog description, I had weight loss surgery and lost over 200 pounds in order to get my life back.  I am thoroughly enjoying living life now and loving it!

The Curvy Fashionista

Blog

The Curvy Fashionista is your resource for highly fashionable finds for the Curvy.Confident.Chic. Plus Size Fashionistas

Bio

I have been in retail for about 11 years, supporting myself through college, working in various retail stores as a stylist, fashion expert, or assistant manager. While working in retail, I noticed that there were not many options for me, a proud size 14+. And when I refer to options, I mean the Contemporary, high fashioned, impeccably fitting, high quality fits that work for me and all of my curves! Shopping became an art- learning how to sniff out the latest designers that “got it.”

Working in retail exposed me to the fact that I was not alone, which at times was a relief and furthermore a frustration. If there are women out here like me, why aren’t designers catering to our needs?
Thus, The Curvy Fashionista was born. After I finished my MBA, I set out to share with all the Curvy.Confident.Chic. Fashionistas that we CAN don the latest and greatest of trends, fashions and styles that are made with US in mind!
